A common misconception is that spray tans are one size fits all, and that is FALSE! At Bronzed By BraKell, each tan is customized to your specific skin type, undertone and color goals to create the most gorgeous and natural looking shade possible.

SHAVE & EXFOLIATE— All shaving & exfoliating should be done 24 hours prior to your appointment (4 hours at the very LATEST) I recommend using an exfoliating mitt for best possible results.

USE THE RIGHT PRODUCTS— Dove Soap is enemy #1 when it comes to spray tan prep! Use a body wash free of any sulfates or parabens. (Native, Method, Cerave, Raw Sugar

COME WITH CLEAN SKIN— Do not apply any lotions, deodorant, perfumes, or makeup prior to your appointment. Any products on the skin can act as a barrier and affect your results.

PLAN ACCORDINGLY— Your spray tan should be your LAST stop on your list of beauty service appointments! Massages, mani/pedis, facials, lashes should all be scheduled 24 hours to your spray tan.

If you follow proper prep & aftercare instructions, you can expect your tan to last up to 7-10 days.

You will want to make sure the products you are using post spray tan do not have any stripping ingredients such as alcohol, sulfates, or fragrances.

I recommend wearing loose fitted, dark colored clothing and flip flops/slides to your spray tan appointment! During the service, it is up to you how much you would like to undress! You can wear thongs, swimsuit, bra, naked… whatever you feel most comfortable in is fine by me! I will also have disposable thongs available you can use if you prefer to be covered.

After your appointment, you will want to stay in those comfy dark colored clothing until you take your first rinse! No bra’s, undies, socks, jeans, or anything tight fitting. If you are going to be sleeping in your spray tan, you will want to sleep in long sleeves to make sure you avoid any transfer.

NO. You need to continue wearing SPF and skin protection. A spray tan doesn’t provide a “base layer” or any protection from the sun.
